 The three age groups we will be publishing for are: 6-8 year old, 9-12 year old and 12 up readers.
For the 6-8 year old readers, we are seeking anything from 2,000 words to 8,000 words.
For the 9-12 year old readers, we are looking for manuscripts ranging in 10,000-25,000 words in length. Age grouping for books is very tenative as each child has very different reading levels and needs. Many 10-11 year olds who are confident readers might easily pick up our 12 and up category.
Our 12 and up readers need a bit more book to bite into and for this group we look at 30,000-55,000 (roughly). Think along the lines of the Skulduggery Pleasant books (HarperCollins) and many of Neil Gaiman's books.
Stories should be original and may or may not have their own artwork as we can assign artist for each new book as it comes.
Also coming soon will be Dark Spire, an imprint of novels for adults and young adult readers who find they have grown out of teen fiction and want something more gritty.
